Screen shades might sound like they’re more about blocking light than adding style to a room, but this isn’t the case with Designer Screen Shades from Hunter Douglas. Our line of screen shades combine the sheer beauty with optimal functionality. As a Hunter Douglas dealer, we provide a full line of screen shades to our customers throughout Mountain Top, Wilkes-Barre, and the entire Northeastern PA area.
Why Choose Designer Screen Shades?

- Versatile in design, screen shades can complement the décor of any room.
- Maintaining your view out the window.
- High quality Hunter Douglas screen fabrics are durable and last a lifetime.
- Screen shades are easy to clean and maintain.
- Easy to operate with a specially designed clutch mechanism attached to a wear-resistant, woven and beaded cord forming a continuous loop.
- Available with decorative pulls and other options to customize your shade to your décor.
What Is the Openness Factor?
Offered with a multitude of options and an opacity range from very sheer to semi-sheer, the fabrics in the Designer Screen collection enhance your décor while allowing you to enjoy your surroundings. The openness level of screen shades affects the amount of light and privacy the shade provides. A 1% openness level, for example, provides is a more obscured view versus a 5% openness level which allows more light and a clearer view. The lower the percentage value, the tighter the weave. The openness value of your screen shade doesn’t affect its style. They all have a clean sleek look with a variety of fabric colors and fascia housing in bronze, silver, black, vanilla or white.
How Can I Operate Screen Shades?
The most common lifting system for roller screen shades is standard clutch system with a continuous cord loop. Pulling gently on the cord causes the clutch to rotate the metal roller tube, which raises or lowers the shade and holds it in place. For enhanced child and pet safety, cordless lifting systems that use the bottom bar or decorative pulls for operation are also available for screen shades. Motorized lifting systems are gaining in popularity for screen shades. We offer the PowerRise 2.0 with Platinum Technology motorized system that allows customers to operate their screen shades with a touch of a button or through the innovative Platinum App for use with Apple mobile devices.
