At Windows to the World in Mountain Top PA, many of our customers are highly concerned about the level of privacy their window treatments can offer. Especially these days, when homes are built closer and closer together, knowing that neighbors might have a straight view into a home is disconcerting. However, people don’t want to lose out on natural light. That’s why we’re happy to show our customers that, with today’s wide variety of window treatments and installation options, they can have privacy without completely blocking your source of natural light.
Custom Drapery
Custom designed drapery can add personalized style to your room, while it also provides privacy. If you have existing blinds or shades, you can add drapery for more privacy when you need it or just drapery panels to block light and provide privacy at the sides of your windows. We offer a wide variety of styles, fabrics, and patterns so you can create beautiful custom drapery.
Top-Down/Bottom-Up Operation
This innovative operating system allows you to open your shades from either the top or the bottom, which allows you to let in light from the top of your window while completely blocking the bottom part of the window, where people might be able to see in. Top-down/bottom-up shades are great for behind bathtubs and in bedrooms. This operating system can be used on most any type of honeycomb shades, roman shades, pleated shades, and woven wood shades.
Blinds vs. Shades for Privacy
Blinds have slats that can be tilted to varying degrees, and shades are made of solid fabric. Any of our blind styles, including wood blinds or faux wood blinds, will give you the ability to tilt the slats so that no one can see in, but you can still let some light into the room. Shades, on the other hand, can only be up, down, or somewhere in between (if you have the top-down/bottom-up style).
