Not all windows are the same—not all are rectangular or square. Some come in specialty shapes such as ovals, octagons, or trapezoids, and some others are harder to cover, such as skylights. They’re beautiful and unique, but these windows also present a dilemma: should they be covered? At Windows to the World serving northeastern Pennsylvania, we can help you figure out the best way to handle your specialty window. Visit our showroom to see all of our product offerings for specialty shaped windows, or call for a free in-home consultation.

Things to Consider When Selecting Window Coverings
Specialty shaped windows have limited functionality. For example, a regular window can be open and lowered, whereas a specialty shaped window can only be partially opened or not at all. When possible, work with the architectural structure of the window. Too many lines in and on a window can be confusing and take away from the beauty of the specialty window. If you don’t need privacy and the light is not an issue, the specialty windows are beautiful untreated! Remember that the window already advances into the room because of its shape, line, and light. If you use a contrasting color on a treatment for the window, it will be magnified and become the focal point in that room.
