At Dave Coleman’s Windows to the World here in northeastern Pennsylvania, we often have customers who are torn between treating their windows and preserving their view. But we’re here to point out that you can actually do both—which is in the best interests of your home, your furnishings, and your energy bill. For ideas about what would work best in your home, to maintain your view, speak with one of our representatives today.
Where to Begin the Fabric
To enjoy and appreciate the visual beauty outside your window, selecting the proper window treatment is key. You don’t want to add layers of fabric to your windows because the fabric will pull the focus into the room instead of toward your view. Horizontal and vertical blinds with smaller slats will modestly obstruct your view; however, you’ll still be able to see some, while still getting some privacy and directional lighting.
Window Treatments that Roll-Up in the Headrail
To truly take in your outside view, select a window treatment that rolls up into a headrail or can be raised to reveal a complete view-through at your window—roller shades. Or you could choose honeycomb or pleated shades, which also offer complete view-through, because they stack neatly at the top of your window. Additional Hunter Douglas options include Silhouette® Window Shades, which, just like a roller shade, roll completely into the headrail to provide full view to your outside. Plus, Silhouette is constructed with soft S-curved vanes that float between two sheer fabrics. When lowered you’ll be able to control the light coming into your room and have a level of privacy. Or you could choose Duette Honeycomb Shades, which stack neatly at the top of your window so you can enjoy your view. This renowned product provides a large selection of opacities, colors, textures and fabrics.
