To perform at our best, we all need good rest. However, many people don’t get the kind of sleep they’d like to every night. And part of the problem could come from improper bedroom window treatments. At Windows to the World here in Northeastern Pennsylvania, we want to help our customers get the right covering on all of their windows—especially bedroom windows, where light control can mean the difference between a restful night and a fitful one. If you’re looking to upgrade your bedroom window fashions, speak with one of our representatives today.
Fabric Options
Seventy-three percent of all Americans prefer a totally dark room to get a good night’s sleep—and to keep sleeping once the sun is up. Regardless of how light you like your room to be, Hunter Douglas window fashions has the perfect blinds, shades, or shutters to meet your needs. Every Hunter Douglas window covering provides some measure of light control, depending on the fabric and color you select, light gaps, seams, and rout holes. Keep in mind that window shades and blinds cannot completely eliminate incoming light as there are inherently slight light gaps. If total darkness is what you want, then choose a window covering that has “true” blackout materials in the collection. You might consider mounting your blinds or shades on the outside of your window frame to minimize the light gap. For wood and aluminum blinds, ask for the de-Light™ feature, which eliminates the rout holes. Another great option is Duette® Honeycomb Shades.
Room-Darkening
Semi-opaque and opaque materials almost completely block out the light, but do not entirely eliminate light. Window coverings that offer room-darkening materials include Silhouette® Window Shadings and Pirouette® Window Shadings. Another option for room-darkening capabilities is to add a liner. This option is available on Provenance® Woven Woods, Silhouette® Window Fashions, and Designer Roller Shades.
